Montel Williams Visits Savannah

SAVANNAH, GA-- Savannah is the site for a celebrity kickoff to an important program to help people in need.

Montel Williams was on Mid-Morning Live with Sonny and Jody today talking about the prescription assistance program. It's a patient assistance clearinghouse that matches Americans with public and private programs that can provide them with free or nearly free medicine.

Montel suffers from multiple sclerosis and spends nearly $2,500 a month on medicine himself, so he knows how expensive it can be.

"In the last two years, nearly four million people have gotten free or nearly free medication through this program" said Montel.
