The luncheon will feature nationally recognized stress expert and Fox News host Dr. Georgia Witkin, who will present “The Female Stress Syndrome Survival Guide,” which she bases on the coping mechanisms she learned from her mother, a six-time cancer survivor. Joining Dr. Witkin is MS expert Dr. Aaron Miller who will present “Hope for the Future in Managing MS.” The luncheon will also include a silent auction and all guests will receive a gift from jewelry designer Judith Ripka. Guests purchasing $500 tickets will also enjoy a private reception with Dr. Witkin.

According to the National MS Society, multiple sclerosis affects approximately 400,000 Americans. For unknown reasons women are affected twice as often as men - the onset usually occurring in the prime of life between the ages of 20-40. MS Society Chapters throughout the country launched the WAMS luncheons in response to this statistic. They are designed to raise awareness about the disease and to create a supportive network of women who have MS as well as those who have friends, sisters, daughters and mothers with MS. In doing so the organization has built a united front of philanthropists and advocates who are joining their resources to help find a cause and cure for multiple sclerosis.
