Hi Dianna. I hope I can help you with a few
suggestions, I'll post them globally in case anyone
else needs them, too. Please ask me for more info if
interested. Thanks. I'll try to keep this short and
sweet.
Vegas is great for handicapped accessibility, I've
been down the strip a few miles in my scooter, and not
had any problems, even with heavy construction. I
love the automatic doors, I wish more places have them
everywhere.
I got my scooter inexpensively at an auto-parts store,
they dissasemble to fit in your trunk, and last all
day. They are generic brands for a well-known maker,
ask me for more info if interested.
Wallmart has scooter-shopping cart combos, great for
some freedom for slow walkers, and saves a lot of
energy. I felt guilty using these at first, but I
cant do the store without one. So I bring a cane, and
use it if there arent any available. I can usually
hobble about for about 15 minutes, until someone gives
up a scooter, and a store rep usually brings one to
me, since I am easy to find.
Watering my lawn takes more energy than I can muster,
especially at the end of the day, after work, and
before evening chores, so I placed a couple of hard
plastic lawn chairs strategically in my yard, so I can
sit with a fixture on my hose so I dont have to
squeeze the trigger. It's not much, but it saves what
little energy I have left for the tasks I dont have as
much control over.
I hope this helps, good luck.
