My friend told me about a website today http://www.zappos.com/welcome.zhtml

They carry scads and scads of really good brands of men's, women's,
and kids' shoes, clothing, handbags/back packs, watches, etc. Their
prices seem to be competitive. What is really cool about it is that it is designed for the
person who wants to shop at home. Next day shipping from purchases and
returns is free. They encourage you to order items in multiple sizes,
see which one fits or if you even like it, and send back the rest.
I think this is a wonderful thing for those of us who have trouble
getting out of the house or walking around stores. You can try stuff on
and take a break. Of course, you have to be able to put all of it on
your charge until you return the stuff you don't want, but you could try
just one item at a time in multiple sizes, especially with next day
delivery.
I haven't tried them out to know how reliable they actually are.
According to their site, they are a member of the online Better Business
Bureau. Of course they have raving testimonials from customers, but they
aren't going to post negative letters on their site, are they?
Yes, they do ship to Canada, but they charge ten dollars to ship there,
which would certainly add up. These days, though, it might still be less
than the cost of gas to and from a mall, especially when you add in not
having to walk around and deal with people and lights and sounds and
lines and stuff.
I thought that it might be a really useful site for lots of us, even if
we are just plain too busy to get to a store, especially with a few kids
in tow.
